STOTESBURY REGATTA: May 16 - 18, 2024

BOATHOUSE ROW

MANDATORY ROWER AND PARENT TEAM MEETING

REQUIRED for ALL rowers interested in attending Stotes Friday, APRIL 19th, 7:15 pm at OHS Oakton Hall

Oakton Crew will compete in the Stotesbury Cup Regatta, held on Philadelphia's legendary Boathouse Row, on May 16th & 17th. “Stotes” is the largest high school regatta in the world and is truly an awe-inspiring event. For most rowers, it is one of the most memorable weekends of their high school crew experience. This will also be the final regatta of the 2024 season for many OHS boats (unless they qualify for Nationals!). We hope to see as many families as possible in Philly in 2024!

The team will travel together by chartered bus from OHS on Thursday, May 16th, and stay together in Mt. Laurel, New Jersey, returning on Saturday, May 18th, at the conclusion of racing.  Coaches will inform teammates which boats will be competing. The entire team is encouraged to attend to support our racers and to cheer Oakton Crew boats down the course.  Participation in this trip is optional for teammates, but the entire team is invited to attend. All rowers who are interested in attending Stotes MUST attend the team meeting on April 19th with AT LEAST ONE PARENT or guardian.

Although the team will travel together in buses, we need a lot of parent volunteers to assist with check-ins on the buses, chaperone hotel floors, help with pasta dinners at the hotel, and help at the Chuck Wagon tent to feed our team on both days.  Parents all sign up for a volunteer shift, and every parent who attends selects two shifts if possible.
