| DEDICATION OF THE CHARLIE BUTT MEMORIAL RACE COURSE |

During the VA State Rowing Championship, the new fully buoyed course was dedicated in honor of Charles Stahle Butt, Jr., former head coach of Washington-Lee H.S. Crew, and known as the "Father of Scholastic Rowing". He was "one of the earliest high school rowing coaches in Northern Virginia, and instrumental in the growth of scholastic rowing in the Washington, D.C. Area and Nationwide."
